    My 4great grandfather, Moses Clack, Sr. (c.1720-1792) lived in Louisa County most of his life. He married (1) Susie Woods about 1750 in Louisa Co., then married (2) Susannah H. Thomson, daughter of Thomas Thomson, in Louisa Co. circa 1763. In 1765, in an Amherst County deed, Thomas Thomson gave to Moses and Susannah 105 acres on the headwaters of Beaver Creek. Moses and Susannah lived on the land until Moses died in 1792. In 1799, the land was sold to William Wood, Jr., by Moses Clack, Jr., on an Albemarle County deed. Can anyone tell me where this land is located? Does anyone have other information on these CLACK and THOMSON Louisa County families?

    Looking for information on the ancestors of FRANCIS LEA who married NANCY BOWCOCK in Bedford County, Va. Nov. 1791. She was the daughter of ELIJAH BOWCOCK and NANCY JOHNSON. ELIJAH BOWCOCK was the son of SALEM BOWCOCK. NANCY JOHNSON was the daughter of CHRISTOPHER JOHNSON and ELIZABETH MOORMAN. These are QUAKER families. FRANCIS LEA seems to be related to the FRANCIS LEA who died in Louisa County in the 1750s. I need information on the sons of FRANCIS LEA, namely JOHN LEA, FRANCIS W. LEA and GIDEON LEA.

    From "Southern Sojourners" - book on Corley's found in Library at Lebanon, Wilson County, TN. Do you have any idea who compiled this book on the Corley's? Or any suggestions on who may know any thing about this family in Louisa Co. VA? Thanks! Pleasant Corley's marriage bond to Nancy Rion d/o Nancy and William Rion was recorded on 12/4/1810 in Louisa Co. VA. He remained in Louisa Co. VA. until after 1840 census of Lousia which showed his household: 1 m. 5/10, 1 m 40/50, f und 5, 1 f 5/10, 2 f 10/15, 2 f 15/20, and 1 f 40/50. By 1850 he had moved to Wilson Co. TN where others of his family were living. Said to have married Elizabeth King Robertson in that year. They are in 1850 census, then they moved to Saline Co. ILL. Their graves were moved some years ago to Wade Cemetery outside Carrier Mills ILL. near the Dallasania crossroads
