Deed 6 Dec 1879 Willis W. Proffit and Betty C., his wife and Nancy C. Thomasson to Henry A. Spears all of Louisa $7,000 paid or secured by deed of trust of even date. Two tracts. One containing 60 acres adjoining James Harris, Lewis Thomasson on the Main Richmond Road, Anthony Waddy, Old Church Road. Being same land assigned to Mordecai Thomasson in division of John Thomasson found filed with Chancery Papers of Thomasson administrators vs. Thomasson and others July court 1843. The other tract of 14 acres was purchased by Willis W. Proffit from George Davis in the purchase of 36 acres by deed 4 Jan 1842 rec. 14 Nov 1863. The residue of that 36 acres was sold by Proffit to J. C. Thacker deed dated 1878 being 22 acres. The above 60 acres fell to Betty C. Proffit and her brothers and sisters from Mordecai Thomasson. The only remaining heirs being Betty C. Proffit, formerly Betty C. Thomasson and Nancy C. Thomasson.
