Whereas by deed 24 Dec 1855 recorded 17 Jan 1856 the Louisa Gold Mining Co. did convey to John Hunter of Louisa and Egert R. Watson of Albemarle, Virginia all property mixed and personal of said Louisa Gold Mining Co. near branches of N. E. Creek supposed to contain the aggregate of 700 acres more or less it being the same premises which were purchased some years since by George H. Thomson of City of Phildelphia, Pa. of Thoms B. Harris, Anderson Talley, James L. Harris, Lewis Thomasson and others and which said George H. Thomson and wife and the North East Gold Mining Co. by deed and release conveyed unto said Louisa Gold Mining Co. to which deed for a better understanding heretofore is made. In Trust to secure to various parties from Louisa Gold Mining Co. and whereas Edward Gratz one of the creditors named in said deed of trust acting for himself and other creditors requested John Hunter and Egbert Watson to sell said property. John Hunter refused but Egbert Watson acted, advertised in the North American and United States Gazette ( a paper in Phildelphia) once a week for four weeks, put notice on Courthouse at Louisa for more than 30 days, did sell at public auction to highest bidder when Edward Gratz of Phildelphia purchased for $12,500 land containing 700 acres more or less. Notary of Phildelphia certified for Gratz.

Davis vs. Samuel Condon of New York, Thomas Martin of Brooklyn New York and others. the general object of this suit is to attach the estate of the said Comden or Camden and Martin in this state in this state and the satisfaction of claims of Davis against Comdem and Martin. The estate of Comden and Martin consists of their undivided interest in the Wheal Maria copper Minning Co. consisting of about 100 a. of land near Tolersville Depot about 2 miles north of the Virginia Central Rail Road adj. lands of Edwin Baker, George Groom and others . Also the interest of Conden and Martin in two engine attached to the Mining property and other fixtures and a persons whose estate is intended to be effected by this proceeding are the defendants Samuel Conden and Thomas Martin.
