Elijah Johnson of Louisa to Richard Morris, David Watson, William White tract whereon sd. Elijah Johnson at present resides in Louisa cont 601? acres and tract 347 acres adjoining the lad of William Morris at the Byrd Mill, 1 other tract of 59 acres whereon stands the Louisa Tan yard, 1 tract lying in Rowan County, North Carolina cont 256 acres and all his claim both legal and equitable in 1096 acres in Ohio on north fork of Paint Creek being land he purchased of Pickett and Pollard. In trust that John Overton, Henry Lawrence, Richard Johnson, W. White, Sr., Arthur Clayton, W. Thomson, Henry Pendleton, James M. Morris, Wm. Ragland, Andrew Kean, Wm. O. Morris, Thomas Desper, Luda. Bramham, Wm. s. Mitchell Wm. Smith, E. C. and Garland Anderson have this day entered themselves as securities for said Elijah Johnson in a bond given for the prison bounds of the county aforesaid the said Elijah Johnson having been committed to the jail of the said county at the suit of the said Pickett and Pollard and the said Elijah Johnson being desirous of securing the said John Overton, H. Lawrence, etc. in their security ship If said Elijah does not commit a breach of the peace of the said prison bounds and save his securities harmless then this deed void. Sig. Elijah Johnson.

Deed of trust 29 Sep 1807 Joseph Duke of Louisa to William Quarles of Orange county and Charles Quarles one tract land containing 264 acres in neighborhood of Arthur Clayton's store adj. sd. Clayton, John Madison, Reuben Cowherd, Moses Harris, William Linney and Eliza. Biggar, also 6 Negroes to wit, Hampton, Harry, Sucky, Peter, Forn, and John also 5 horses. In trust that Wm. and Charles Quarles administer estate to best advantage of Joseph Duke and his wife Mary. Joseph Duke now owes sundry debts and trustees shall have the power to discharging them in anyway that they may think will be best either by applying the overplus if any from the estate or selling a part of it. If a separation should take place between Joseph Duke and his wife Mary each to receive one half and at the death of either the profits will go to the survivor until their daughter Louisa Duke shall be 21 years or marries when 1/3 of the estate shall be give to her in fee simple.
